The Yates Gallery provided a rich Renaissance-styled interior and together with the scale and height of the gallery allowed the artists to respond with a work of scope and richness of detail.
Drawing from the painting Satyr Mourning over a Nymph by Piero di Cosimo, in the collection of the National Gallery in London, they transformed and reanimated this mythical landscape in epic proportions.
This work was shown simultaneously with a time based installation Specific Natures which the artists created in Mort Coopers, a vacant shopfront in downtown Chicago.
