Action. The tree ceremony
3 – 7 December 2015
Jardin des Plantes, Paris
Produced by ArtCOP21
A symbolic staged event at the Musée national d’Histoire naturelle and Jardin des Plantes, Paris during the opening week of COP21. Framing the tree as ‘actor’ in an urban drama of increasing city temperatures, damaging flood waters, polluted air and bio-diversity loss, an evergreen oak holds centre-stage as impetus to green cities and towns world-wide. Throughout the two weeks of the climate convention, a series of plantings of Beuys’ Acorn trees will take place across France and Paris.
