The Ancient Mariner Big Read

www.ancientmarinerbigread.com

Dear Heather and Dan,

We are delighted to announce that the Ancient Mariner Big Read is about to go live. As from 00.01, on Saturday 18th April, the first reading is available to experience at www.ancientmarinerbigread.com Over the coming 39 days we will release a daily reading, accompanied by an artwork and writing, with the Big Read becoming available in its entirety as an audio/ visual experience on 28th May.

This has been an amazing project to work on and we would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for your contribution. The Ancient Mariner Big Read provides a platform that supports artists in their endeavour to retell and interpret powerful stories, and it stands as an artwork in its own right precisely because of the richness and quality of the contributions.

Importantly the Big Read is free for everyone to experience. Through great story-telling and great art we hope to inspire audiences and to also provide some comfort at these strange times. Please do share widely with your networks – the Big Read is suitable for all ages and over the coming weeks we will be providing further online engagement material, including family activities and an education resource.

In lieu of a physical celebration we are planning an online closing party, to raise a toast to the project and to personally thank you for your part in making this wonderful project happen. Details will be sent out shortly. In the meantime, I would like to once again thank you for your support and contribution.

Take care and stay safe.

Kind regards,

Angela Cockayne, Philip Hoare, and Dr Sarah Chapman
